Young For Unity at BCLHS
The Young for Unity (Y4U) Club at Bishop Conaty Loretto High School
(BCLHS), a local chapter of the international Teens for Unity movement
promotes unity in the world. To achieve this end, the club works and pursues activities to break down existing divisions, barriers, and prejudices in the family, in the school, among generations, and in the community. We collaborate with "Teens for Unity" and "Youth for United World (Y4UW)" of Los Angeles.

What We Do
We give with joy
We practice a new culture: the culture of giving and sharing. We initiaite many activites, such as the “Spring Fairs,” through which we support 30 “Give projects.” These are mirco-projects in different parts of the world in favor of teenagers who are poor or who live in war-torn countries.
We discover the other
We commit ourselves to know those who are different from us by way of culture or religion, in order to discover each other’s riches and by highlighting that which unites us. We reach out to refugees and immigrants in order to transform out cities into a home for all.
We build peace
We have agreed to pause for a moment of silence everyday and to pray for peace in the world. We call it the “Time.”
We compete for unity
We build brotherly relationships through games, races, and sports activities.
We care for nature
WE show out commitment for the environment through ecological initiatives.
We weave a network
We promote a network linking various schools with the “Schoolmates” project. Class students in different countries correspond with each other and share cultures and projects already underway to build a united world. We support scholarships for teenagers in disadvantaged countries.
